The 3rd President of TRNC Dr. Derviş Eroğlu was discharged today after 6 days of treatment at the Near East University Hospital.

Going under treatment at the Near East University Hospital since August 23 with complaints of dizziness, speech disorder and confusion, the 3rd President of the TRNC Dr. Derviş Eroğlu was discharged after a 6-day treatment period carried out by neurology, cardiology and infectious diseases specialists.

Having the first three days of his treatment in the intensive care unit of the Near East University Hospital, Dr. Derviş Eroğlu was taken out of the intensive care unit on Thursday and taken to the normal service.

Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen: “We are happy to discharge our President, whose physical functions have returned to normal after the treatment.”
Reminding that the 3rd President of TRNC Dr. Derviş Eroğlu was delivered to the Near East University Hospital on Monday, August 23 at 12:00 with the complaints of dizziness, speech disorder and confusion, Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen said, “We suspected a viral infection affecting the cerebral cortex during the first examinations and continued the treatment process accordingly.”

Stating that Dr. Eroğlu’s treatment was planned and implemented by a committee of neurology, cardiology and infectious diseases specialists, Prof. Dr. Yenen said, “At the 17th hour of starting the treatment, our Honorable President Dr. Eroğlu gained all cognitive functions of and recovered. Throughout the treatment process, Dr. Eroğlu was conscious and did not need to be connected to any medical support device.

Reminding that they removed Dr. Derviş Eroğlu from the intensive care unit, where he was kept as a precautionary measure, to the normal service on 25 August, Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen said, “We are happy to discharge our President as a healthy person, who has fully recovered and whose body functions returned to normal after the treatment we conducted.”

Prof. Dr. Yenen expressed his gratitude to Head of Neurology Department Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özmenoğlu, Head of Cardiology Department Prof. Dr. Prof. Hamza Duygu and Prof. Dr. Kaya Süer from the Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology and their teams who meticulously carried out the treatment.
