If they are not treated, they can harm the patient’s quality of life and cause permanent disabilities. If needed during treatment, the dermatology, orthopaedics, chest diseases, neurology, gastroenterology, nephrology, physiotherapy and other departments are consulted for support.

The diagnosis and treatment of infected spinal rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, network tissue diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren syndrome, scleroderma etc.), inflammatory myositis, diseases which cause vein infections, familial Mediterranean fever, Bechet’s disease and gout, degenerative joint diseases (osteoarthritis), osteoporosis and soft tissue rheumatism are conducted at the rheumatology department.
