The Near East University Hospital Department of Psychiatry offers walk-in services for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic depression), depression, panic disorder, anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, somatoform disorder, dissociative disorders, Alzheimer's Disease and all other forms of dementia, internet and gambling addictions, sleep disorders, eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, sexual dysfunctions and all personality disorders, primarily borderline personality disorder.

Psychometric Laboratories
Accurate diagnosis is ensured by using MMPI, Beier Sentence Completion Test, Thematic Apperception Tests, Mini Mental Test, SCID-I (Configured Clinical interview for DSM I) disorders and other clinical measures before or during the treatments.

Family therapy, relationship and marriage therapy, sexual dysfunction therapy, addiction (alcohol or other substance) therapies are offered.  After rehabilitation therapy in the hospital, monitoring is provided for patients with smoking, alcohol, marijuana, hash, “weed”, cocaine, heroin, volatile substances (Bali etc.), ecstasy, bonzai, and benzodiazepine addictions.

Electroconvulsive Treatment (ECT)
ECT is a faster way of effectively and safely easing psychiatric symptoms compared to other treatment methods such as medication and therapy.  It is used in cases which do not respond to medication therapy, depression cases with high suicide risk along with psychotic cases with extreme hallucinations and delusions.  Statistically 80%, of ECT patients benefit from the treatment.
