Faculty of Pharmacy
Establishment
NEU Faculty of Pharmacy has started to be built up in the first couple of months of 2006, ground breaking was in March of the same year. Within four months time the construction was finished and the faculty building was ready for students for September 2006. The faculty building occupies an area of 7200 meter-squares. Within the body of faculty building there is one Pharmaceutical/Analytical Chemistry Lab, one pharmacology/toxicology/biochemistry lab, one microscopy lab , one pharmacognosy lab, two pharmaceutical technology labs , one cell and tissue culture lab and one instrumental analysis lab. The labs were built and equipped by Waldner company. "pharmaceutical and medical information management" tutorials and practicals are delivered in our computer lab which has 25 pc's with internet connections and CAL program installed. NEU Faculty of Pharmacy has started its 5 years (MPharm) degree program in English in September 2007-2008 Academic year.
Mission
The mission of the Near East University Faculty of Pharmacy is to educate, train, and maintain competency of highly-skilled pharmacists and scientists in their fields; to create, transmit, and apply new knowledge based on cutting-edge research in the pharmaceutical, social, and clinical sciences; and to enhance the quality of life through improved health for the people of our society and the global community. Our faculty provides a learning community that facilitates critical thinking, problem-solving skills and scholarship, using the latest technology. It provides for active student-centered learning that fosters life-long learning and continuing professional development. Although the Faculty prepares pharmacists for all areas of practice, special emphasis is placed on the community environment in which the majority of healthcare services will be provided in the future.
The Faculty of Pharmacy aims to be a leading school of pharmacy in its field, to attract attention of and train the most able students and staff, to understand and influence educational and health missions as well as gaining respect and requesting critics of our collaborators and other relevant pharmaceutical sector stakeholders, and to foster interdisciplinary working internally and collaborate widely externally.

The School of Pharmacy will hold a position of national and international prominence in creative, dynamic programs that train the next generation of pharmacists, scientists, and educators. We will expand and enhance our commitment to excellence, achievement, and innovation in pharmacy education at all levels, and we will be an intellectually superior school at which to study and work in an inclusive and welcoming environment will confidently train the leaders of tomorrow in this field.
